Kris G. Patterson is a compassionate and focused professional who has consistently strived for excellence throughout her career. As the owner of KGP Medical Billing and KGP Consulting LLC, an experienced instructor, she has made significant contributions to the field.

Kris began her medical billing journey in 1988 after completing a Medical Insurance Billing Certificate Program at California State University, Los Angeles. Over the past 30 years, she has trained thousands of students in Medical Insurance Billing & Collections, Medical Front Office Procedures, and Start a Medical Billing Service classes at multiple California Community Colleges. In addition to her teaching and business roles, Kris serves as a Medical Bill Reviewer/Designated Expert Witness. In this capacity, she advises clients, performs audits, and determines a reasonable value for medical care the injured party receives, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table.

Kris' expertise extends beyond the classroom. She has hands-on experience with a wide range of practice management applications, including eClinicalWorks, dbMotion Clinical, Promacs, Medisoft, Lytec Medical, Soft Aide, Medical Manager, PTOS, PacWare, Practice Mate, Office Ally, Compex, Box, and Practice Fusion. Her proficiency in these tools and her ability to teach virtual classes using Tech Connect Zoom, Go to Meetings, and Canvas instill confidence in her students and clients.

Outside of her professional life, Kris finds joy in camping and fishing. She cherishes traveling with her husband, Darryl, and creating precious memories with her granddaughter, Meela. These personal interests reflect her balanced approach to life and her commitment to maintaining strong personal relationships, which aligns with her professional motto:
